Evaluation
At Chicago Piano Restoration, we would be happy to provide you with a formal assessment of the value of your piano for insurance, sale, or other purposes. During an evaluation, the piano technician will inspect every piano component, including all action parts, belly(plate, soundboard, strings, tuning pin stability, etc.), cabinet, structural integrity, and the overall condition of the piano.
Stringing
Includes all-new custom-made strings, new or existing pinblocks, new Julius Klinke Neuenrade tuning pins, plate felting, and more.
Soundboard & Belly
Includes repair or replacement of the soundboard & bridge, refinishing the plate & soundboard, replacing the pin block, tuning pins, strings, and more.
Life Saver System
Protect your piano from the undesirable effects of extreme or fluctuating humidity levels. Dampp-Chaser System works automatically and silently inside your Piano.
Action Regulation
Adjustment of the mechanical aspects of the pianos to compensate for the effects of wear, compacting, and settling of cloth, felt, and buckskin, as well as dimensional changes in wood and wool parts due to changes in humidity.
PianoDisc Installation
The PianoDisc System can be installed on any new or used upright or grand piano.
Cleaning
Includes cleaning of the soundboard, strings, plate, tuning pins, keyboard, key bed, action lubrication, tightening of all action screws, and more.
Voicing
Adjustment of the tone or quality of a piano sound. Chicago Piano Restoration can voice a piano to change its tonal personality from mellow to bright or robust to delicate.
